Plan Well, Think Well · 05/12/2023

32. Planning my typical days as Mum & working professional

There are never enough hours in a day to do everything I need and want to do as Mum to a 3-year old and a business owner.

I’ve always been a night owl and if not for looking after my health & well-being, especially now I’m no spring chicken, I would happily go without sleep!

Free of distractions, I concentrate better at night, am far more creative, and so much more productive.

It’s how I did so much in the space of five months, all while raising a toddler and enjoying a fun-filled family summer. I set up my own business, got certified for mental health advocacy, gained a role with The Prince’s Trust, and started online mentoring.

Now that things are up and running and the wheels are in motion, I aim to sleep for 8 hours – the optimum needed by our mind-body system. On average, I sleep five to six hours a night so am trying to better this.

So, by no means am I advocating the following schedules! But these routines have been my reality for the best part of 2023 and accurately show my typical days as a busy Mum and working professional.

I am sure these will resonate with many, if not all, of you!
