October was a heavy month. The days got shorter and started staying darker for longer.
We had World Mental Health Day (10 Oct), Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 Oct), and Stoptober for those quitting or reducing addictive habits like smoking, vaping, and drinking.
Also, whether you are a One Direction fan or not, we had the very public, sad, and tragic news of Liam Payne’s untimely death that deeply affected millions on a global scale – and no doubt will continue to for months and years to come.
Against this backdrop, working as a Progress Coach at a college in Surrey, I advocated for The Self-Kindness Toolkit.
As we navigate our own life journeys and challenges, as individuals, with our unique needs and different tolerance and resilience levels, this Toolkit, packed with expert tips and tricks, offers helpful coping strategies regardless of the situation.

Circles of Control helps us manage stress and anxiety, while the step-by-step problem solving process helps to resolve issues, logically and in a manageable way. There is a strategy to help us make decisions confidently, and another to support those wanting or needing to cope better with change.
This free resource from the British Red Cross has helped me deliver weeks of effective tutorials,
In addition, it has equipped college students with practical exercises to take care of their own well-being and tackle challenging times.
In advocating the Self-Kindness Toolkit, I hope it will help you and your loved ones, too.
